That's a nice rig. One thing you are really going to like is the touchpad.
It has just the right amount of texture, so you finger doesn't stick on it.
I checked out the new Hp dv5t and it has a polished, chrome-like touch-
pad. It looks very cool, but the smooth surface is terrible.

Yeah, a couple of friends have HP's, and it really is uncomfortable with this polished surface, this one is rugged, smooth, great!
BTW, the WLED screen is really bright!! I had to turn it a lil bit down, because it was too white, but great....
The fingerprint reader works like a charm, I logon Windows everytime, I don't have to double-swipe my finger....

Agreed, the new touchpad on the HP's is not a good one. When I was messing around with it at bestbuy, my fingers wouldn't slide too easily accross the touchpad of the new HP's and it would almost stick to it.

I really liked the touchpad on my Vostro, so it is, that I'm still browsing around from it.... Tomorrow I'll give it to the buyer ... :(
I'll miss it too, hey BTW, I installed the Vista x64, it's humming really good, that's why I'm on the Vostro, the Studio is installing everything, it's really stable and fast. When I turned it on, it had 32-bit Vista, and it was like slow, and unstable... I'll give a rep, when I'm done installing everything...
    Thanks for the comments!

Thanks a lot. Beautiful, high-def pics. I'm happy I re-ordered and chose orange this time. Looks like a great laptop.

    You like it so far?

Fun little thing I noticed on mine... The whole contour of the screen is a rubbery material. Probably makes it easier for them to install the different colour accents they have and also in wont scratch as easily as hard plastic on that area.

Hey; I just noticed that you grabbed the fully updated processor as well. I was just wondering if you could run some tests on it; maybe tell us what the battery life is like. IDK if you're a gamer, but if you are, I"d like to hear some info on this model's gaming abilities.

Ok, here are some thoughts about everything.
    - I'm kind of annoyed because the flexed keyboard anytime I write something it goes down...
    - The color is great, and the rubbery material is really great, it stays clean.
    - I was programming yesterday in Java, and I was also in bed, so I "tested" the battery life, fully charged, It'll give you something like 2:50 working in Power Saving.
    - I'll run some tests like SuperPI, and HD Tune, I'm also running a 64-bit Version of Vista.

What do you guys think about Home Premium, should I install the Business Version better? I have both licenses, and I want to know which one is better, I had Vista Business x64 on the Vostro, and it ran like a charm!
Any other questions please, I'm please to answer them, and please excuse my errors, I'm no native English-speaker!

PS: Could you help me to adjust the keyboard, so that it doesn't flex like this? I'll try to post a video later....

I think the keyboard flex depends on the manufacturer. The keyboard on my 1520 tends to flex a little - but there isn't a manufacturer sticker. Both 1420s I have had came with NMB keyboards and there is zero flex on them and they are of much better build quality.

I'd pull mine off, and look if I can "tighten" it, but I'm not that sure about it... I opened the back and I looked and looked, but didn't want to go any further!
I was afraid to break something...
BTW I had the Vostro 1500, and I must say I really like to have changed to the S15, it's not that heavy, not as bulky, and I love the orange color, the fingerprint reader, and the backlit keyboard, I'm now in bed and the keyboard just rocks!

Those are odd results; the Studio 15 review ran by NotebookReview (with the base model) had better SuperPi results. Hmm.

I did today some adjustments on the keyboard, I pulled it out and noticed there's a rubber pad (like those under the laptop), to hold a bit the flexing, I put another one and a guitar pick next to these thingys. Some get-around, but the keyboard doesn't flex that much.
Any thoughts? Do you guys think it's a bad idea to leave a guitar pick under the keyboard?
    Thanks for any replies...
