I have a brand new Dell Insprion 1545. Everything has been good on it, and then all the sudden today the touchpad became totally unresponsive. The pointer doesn't move AT ALL when the touchpad is touched. Luckily, I have a USB mouse, but having to use it kind of takes away the portability.

I am by no means computer illiterate, but it's entirely possible that I made some sort of stupid error or changed some setting to make the touchpad unresponsive. Simple fixes or any helpful hints are appreciated.

Try reinstalling your touchpad drivers from Dells website.

Other than that, its possible that your touchad connector came loose inside your computer...

Thanks - already tried reinstalling drivers. Also, the computer says that the device is working.

Hmm, thats odd. If the comuter recognises it being connected and working, then, it must be connected fine inside.

Maybe the touchad itself broke...
