I Have Inspiron 1521 / Vista Home Basic. My Computer Shuts Down (improper Shutdown) When I Resume From Sleep Mode By Slightly Pressing The Start Button. Dell Sent Me A Refurbished Hard Drive, And It Worked Fine For A Couple Of Days Now The Problem Is Back.

Stop Starting Every Word With A Capital Letter :p.

Is the shutdown immediately after you come out of sleep mode?

By the way, I'm not familiar with that model, but if I were to press the start button once on my dell desktop it would shut down too. Are you sure it isn't another button to come out of sleep mode?

On the laptop, you can resume Windows from the sleep mode, by pressing the start or media button. Worked well before the problem started. The shutdown can be described as if you were to turn off the power to your desktop while Windows is running, it happens as soon as the computer tries to come out of sleep mode. Then I haves to do a Manual Start, the computer then goes into BIOS, because of the inproper shutdown and ask's me how I would like to start Windows.
