Hello. Apart from the infamous high-pitched cpu whine that all vostros have, I notice that if I shut my laptop (putting it in sleep mode) and I put my ear up to the bottom, I can hear an up-and-down sort of whining/whirring noise. I don't know if its the fan or the hard drive or what, but the sound is coming from the rear left underside of the laptop.
I usually carry my laptop in a bag while it is completely off, but sometimes I find it more convenient to just put it in sleep and carry it, but if it's making this noise, I don't want to damage it or overheat it. Do you know what this noise is?
    Thanks.
