    Upcoming Changes for Dell XPS 1330?

    I was curious does anyone have any info regarding new options for XPS 1330 later this year. For example will a 8600 graphics card be offered instead of just 8400, will dell offer a blu-ray or HD dvd drive? The reason I am asking this is I need to get this notebook sometime before December and wondering if any of the specs will change by then. Cheers!!!

    Maybe, maybe not. The 8600M may be pushing it though, perhaps the 8400GT, but in all cases, I doubt it will change. As for the Blu-Ray/HD-DVD drive, I wouldn't be surprised, but it would lose it's slot drive feature if thats of any importance.

    If you need the xps m1330 in december better order it now you might get it in december....... if you are luky

    quit exaggerating, EDD times now are in early october, not december :p BTW, I think blueray was pretty much confirmed to be on the books for 1330 but better graphics is not likely. 9400gs is god knows when comes out, and by that time possible a 1330 refresh will be out (1331 or something :) ) 8600gt is not possible, 1330 doesn't have enough cooling capacity to accomodate something like that...

    Jeez, just get some leds and install them urself :laugh:

    Wdro, bluray would probably add $500 or so to the 1330 price - at least, this is how much it costs to add it to XPS 1710

    Can anyone think of any other changes like a bigger SSD. I know Dell has had major problems with certain colours but will they reintroduce white as an option or have you heard of any new colours?

    Also this will be the first time I have bought a dell do they generally have good sales up to the Christmas period? I was thinking will the price come down as all the manufacturing problems are sorted out?

    Big changes aren't coming till 2008. Only thing I can think of for 2007 is adding Bluetooth 2.1+EDR.
