    Hey Guys,

The news about Nvidia losing money to warranty recalls for systems using the G84 or G86 gets a little worse at times.

Has anyone had their 1420 (or other machine) fail for having a defective GPU? What did dell do to you? Anyone argue for an extended warranty? My warranty is almost up and I am not sure what to do. My system is still running ok, but I do get mysterious wireless 'fails' from time to time.

I want to know if the additional year extension for this faulty GPU is actually a reality

Search is your friend, and bumping after only an hour is pointless.

Already searched. Thanks. Let's try hearing from people that actually have something to add to the discussion.

dell had a lists of notebooks with the bad video cards, and my inspiron 1520 was not on it...i have the 8600gt,,,,figure that out...unless the 1520 has the corrected 8600gt installed in them...now the m1530 was on the list,,they have the 8600gt,,but its ddr3 as opposed to mine with ddr2. these are the notebooks dell has extended the warranty due to the bad video adapters.

Yes the additional warranty is a reality; it does not cover your wireless. It is only in place for specified models, as pointed out by ronss.
