Anyone know if any upgrades to the M6300 are being released in the next few months?

I am looking for a high-end 17" laptop for on-site software consulting work, and the M6300 mostly fits the bill, but it is missing built in eSata. Also HDMI would be a nice to have. Since this will be my only computer away from home I want high end graphics also, 8800GT or better.

The new Gateway FX is also nice, but Gateway in general does not have a good reputation for quality. There are also the new Clevos coming out, but they are not business class machines so I am a bit wary about the build quality. Also they won't be available until at least June.

I am leaning towards the Dell M6300, because I suspect with it being a business portable workstation that the build quality will be much better than Dell's 1730/1530 models.

Anyone know if Dell has any plans to update their Precission notebook line anytime soon?

Same build quality, but better quality of tech support - US based.

If you're needing a high end lappy with HDMI, look at the XPS 17" laptop, it sounds like that one might fit your bill better than a business oriented M6300. I think you'd still need an expresscard or PCMCIA eSATA though.

The Precision line will update with the release of the new E series Latitude starting around beginning of June, the Precisions tend to come out a little after their Latitude counterparts though, maybe another month after.

OK. This is at least some benchmark on timeline. Any thoughts as to what the new M6300 chassis might look like
