Ok guys, I reinstalled windows xp and now my computer works, but I have a little problem, my computer can't "standby" or "hibernate" I can see that option but its disabled, what can I do? I'm downloading some drivers right now like, my wireless card drivers, ethernet drivers and some others that were lost during the reinstall.
The drivers I'm missing are:
Ethernet Controller
Video controller
Video controller (VGA compatible)
How important are they? I know the what the first one do, its the "port" to connect my computer to DSL internet but how about the others?

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
Go to http://support.dell.com/ and click on "Drivers Home". Choose your system and OS and you can download your drivers. Not that hard.

Best advice I could give which is the easiest way of doing things is to go to the Dell website and enter your Service Tag found on the bottom of your laptop. It will pull up all the appropriate drivers for your laptop. -
ooohhh!! lol I didn't know that if my video drivers are not present I can't put my computer into standby lol, we learn something new everyday, and yes, I'm at dell drivers download and I'm trying to figure out what exactly drivers I need

Guys... my computer has no sound either... and sigmatel audio is not there. I downloaded the drivers but the "program" itself is not there! how do I get it? All I have been able to find is drivers, but I don't need driver since I don't have the audio device! where do I get audio device?
After few hours of trying to fix it, I fixed some problems but there are 4 that I can't fix yet:
Ethernet Controller (has a yellow question mark with an exclamation mark, this is not too important since I connect wireless)
Video Controller (has the same yellow question mark with an exclamation mark)
Video Controller (VGA compatible) ( the same yellow signs)
IDT High Definition Audio CODEC (this one only has a yellow exclamation mark)
I really want sound back on my computer and be able to standby or hibernate and from what I have been told this problems have something to do with my pc not able to standby or hibernate and no sound.
Update: Fresh installation of windows xp after a bad virus...
