I noticed a new Sigmatel Stac 92xx C-Major audio driver (v. 6.10.0.5609) posted on Dell's support page yesterday for the Inspiron series. Here's the link.
However, when I tried to install it, it gave some message about not having the correct hardware. I have the integrated HD Audio with the .5515 driver. Anyone experience this?

new driver works fine here.

I get the same error !?!?!
-
I got an error too, but now my audio won't work period. It uninstalls the current driver and then gives you an error recommending to restart and try again. I've tried many times, still no luck...but now I can't even install the driver from before that without the same error message and now I have no sound PERIOD! WTF?!?

Hey guys I'm having this same problem, is there anyway to fix this issue?
-
For the people who are having problems, is this the stock Dell Vista? Or have you re-installed?
-
Don't install the new driver, I tried it first handed... and it is NO GOOD.
From personal experience, I have windows XP,Dell release a new audio driver as well for XP, so I was like hey awesome! So, I went ahead and installed it. Everything worked fine and dandy until the next day, audio driver would randomly crash and stop working, I have to uninstall and reinstall for it to work for a little while. I would wait until they get the problem sorted out, besides the update doesn't bring anything new. -
It's been the latest driver for my Vostro for a long time on Dell and I've been running it for ages - no problems.
