I plan on buying a 1720 soon and would like to upgrade what I can with aftermarket (cheaper) stuff. What information do I need to make sure I search for the right processor and memory?
I'm going for a T7700 Intel or something similar. I'd like to upgrade the RAM as much as my wallet will allow. Please let me know what I need to look for to make sure I don't get the wrong ones.
Thanks

Updating the processor after you buy will void your warrenty. As for memory, you need pc 5300/5400 notebook memory. It will be cheaper to update the memory than to pay Dell prices for memory. You could also consider upgraded the Harddrive after market.

would it be possible to upgrade the processor, and if i had some problem that i needed to send the notebook back, re-install the original?
i have no clue if it keeps a log of things like that..?
thanks for the info. with the memory, do i have to get the 667Mhz or can i get anything higher? i imagine it will just use what it can of the memory, but i'd rather know than guess.
