I have an I6000 with a Cele-M 1.3Ghz and 512mb RAM. I'm thinking about upgrading to 1gig. What's the cheapest way to do it with saome decent RAM? What kind of boost in performance will I notice?

Well...you can go to www.newegg.com and see what it will cost you.

How much do you have now...if you aren't gaming and just use apps, max out at about 1GB is the best you will be able to do.

The boost will depend on what you have now. :)

Now I have 512mb, so I'll be doubling. I actually do a lot of gaming, not Doom 3 at max settings (cause my vid card is ****), but I still play lots of games.

Well...if you do game then I might go for 2GB, but depending on the video card and how well it performs. I think you would be safe at 1.5GB, just depends on the prices. :)

    Hope this helps.

    Yeah they block that out.

Cool, thanks. I have GMA900 graphics which dips into system memory so gaming is limited anyway.

Does it matter what type of RAM I get? I'm not exactly sure what's compatible with this laptop.

    I believe you will have PC-4200 DDR2 200-pin SODIMM.
