A friend of mine has a Dell Inspiron 1300 in the UK configured with 512MB RAM on Win XP. Whilst this was originally OK, he has installed some resource hogging apps and the performance has significantly degraded. I suggested upgrading the RAM to 1GB, but I am unsure of how the slots are configured on this machine.

The Crucial UK website suggests that there might be 2 slots, each with 256MB, however I'm really unsure and i don't have the laptop to hand to find out exactly what's installed where...

Does anyone have this laptop (it's about 2 years old) and can you explain where the slots are located? I'm guessing one is underneath... is there another one under the keyboard (hope not!!).
