I am anxiously waiting on my 1330 to arrive and had a question about the OS. What is the easiest way to install Business or Ultimate over the Premium that comes with the laptop.

    Thanks!

I think the best thing to do is format the lappy, and install from fresh.

Reinstall is probably the cleanest route to go, but if you have a Vista installlation CD, just boot from the CD and let the instal routine fire. You wil eventually get to a point where it will give you a chance to upgrade from whatever version you have to Business or Ultimate (eg Home to Business/Ultimate, or Premium to Ultimate.)
can't help but chuckle at that....

Nizzy, Home does not work with a domain or AD. Business and Ultimate do.

    Stiffle i David :)

I would jump straight to ultimate, by doing a complete reinstall.
A reformat and reinstall is always best as it keeps things clean and reduces any problems you may have with an upgrade.

Do I need to have the SATA drivers available or will Vista install without them?

Vista recognizes SATA HDDs, unlike XP.

    Appreciate it.

So if I decided to install XP and then dual boot/install Vista I would need the SATA drivers for XP, correct?

TS, I don't know if you paid attention to this post, but your only upgrade "choice" should be Ultimate. You would lose features in Premium if you went to Business.

Also, "installing" Ultimate over Premium won't cause any headaches. Ultimate basically unlocks the features you're looking for.

instead of doing a fresh install couldn't you just do a upgrade or is it not possible?
