I have 3yr at home service and warranty. Do you know:

    1. How long do I have from the day of the shipping to upgrade my warranty?
    2. How much should it cost?

    Thanks a bunch!

From the ship date you have 30 days to add it . It can cost from $0 to over $350

Does anybody have a number to call to add the accidental damage to an order in place? I called the order modification but was told that they have to cancel the order to add that.

Or, is it better to wait till I get the laptop? Is it pretty easy to do it after I receive the laptop?

You risk of going back in line... the m1330 line is already long enough!!! If you don't mind the wait... you can add it I guess.

Yeah, thats a thought. Though, it wouldn't make sense for Dell to send me back in line for what is essentially a piece of paper, but it is Dell so anything is possible.

When I made my initial order 6/29/07 it only had one year warranty. I called back on 7/2/7 to add 3 year Completecare. They had to cancel and reorder my system, it was only $67 for 3 year Completecare. They also gave me the option to add it later. Which was $198 for 3 year Completecare, the reason for the $67 was that it was a point of sale warranty instead of warranty added to an existing system. So I ended up canceling and reordering with 3year Completecare.

So, its going to be expensive if I add it now? Are dell notebooks covered under 30-day satisfaction guarantee i.e. I can return it for full refund with return shipping paid by Dell? I might return and re-order if it is going to be a cheaper deal. I have plenty of patience and there is enough computing power in the house already... :)

Yes they are covered under The Total Satisfaction Guarantee.

Also, wait until you receive the system and call for the upgrade right away. You will be ably to bargain them down a bit.

Flamenco, what do you mean by bargain down a bit? Can you clarify if you mean upgrading the warranty? If yes, then do you threaten to return or what do you do?

You shouldn't any trouble going from 3 year CC to 4 year for free.
