I upgraded MD2 to MD3 a long time ago on my 1210. Like maybe 6 months ago. Well, now I am trying everything I can think of to get my 1210 to boot Ubuntu by hitting the MediaDirect Button to power on. I think this will be easier with MD2.

Any ideas? Could I 0 out the drive or something, or did the upgrade alter something in the hardware? Just curious, looking for ANY ideas.

Hmmm, I have changed my stance slightly. Instead, is there a good program to just Clear the drive and the HPA, so it's like I just got a new harddrive?

Ok, found a tool call Kill Disk. I'll report any progress I have if I can manipulate the MD button to boot Ubuntu.

    gohanssjn,

Were you able to reinstall MediaDirect2 and boot Ubuntu with the MediaDirect Button?
