Does anybody know if upgrading a Inspiron system's RAM will void the warranty you have for it, even though they have guides like this that explain how to do it yourself?

it will not void your warranty but dell will not support the memory

As Jim said, you can upgrade it and it will not void your warranty, but dell will not cover it either. In other words, keep your old memory sticks safe and sound. This way if something does happen to your current sticks, you'll have a backup. Also, sometimes dell will ask you to insert the old sticks to test out errors if they know you have upgraded to new sticks.
I've never had any problems with dell cause of my RAM being upgraded. I honestly don't think they care as long as that is not the cause of the problem. -
Yeah, I figured as much. I've done the upgrade before with another laptop, so it's not difficult. I just don't want my 3 year warranty that I paid a little extra for to suddenly end.
Now, to just get the money to get the sticks....
