Gday, I want to upgrade my original hard drive to a faster 60gb 7200rpm. I have heard you can get the Hard drives outside of Dell.[]
Can someone tell me the brand and model number I should be looking for?
I heard Hitachi was the best but need more specs so I know to ask for right one.
Any help would be much appeciated. []

There is only one laptop drive that is 7200rpm/60gb. It's the Hitachi (was IBM) Travelstar 7k60. http://www.hitachigst.com/
I've heard (on the forum to stay away from the e7k60, because it's for enterprise applications.

OK specs are:

Media transfer max 518 Mb/sec 518 Mb/sec
Interface transfer max 100 MB/sec max 100 MB/sec max
Average seek (ms) 10 10

Non-operating amb temp (°C) -40 to 65 -40 to 65
Due to the ABLE power management feature being disabled in the E7K60 products, power performance will not be optimal when used in a laptop environment.[:0]
Therfore conclusion is: You shouldn't use E7K60 in laptop, be careful people are selling these on eBay as laptop drives. [8D]
