I want to upgrade E1405 from its current memory size 2 GB to 4 GB.

Has anyone done it successfully ? Are there any issues to watch for ?

    Also , can E1405 ( T7200 Intel Core 2 ) support more than 4 GB of RAM , considering that E1405 has 2 slots and I can put 4 GB each ?

What is the max size of HDD that can be supported by E1405 ? Can it support 500 GB HDD ?

    Regards,
    Sanjay

    Hi welcome to NBR forums

I had an E1405. The chipset will support 4 GB RAM, however 32 bit OS (XP, 32 bit Vista/7) will only utilize 3.5 GB RAM. XP will only see 3.5, Vista/7 will see 4 GB.

Yes any 2.5" 9.5mm notebook SATA drive will work. Biggest now is 1 TB in 9.5mm but only 5400 rpm. The biggest 7200 rpm SATA drive is 750 GB.

Make sure you get ddr2 ram as i don't think your laptop supports the latest / more common ddr3 ram

Yes, you should be able to install Windows 7 no problem. If you have a Core Duo, can only use 32 bit OS's, if you have a Core 2 Duo then you can get 64 bit OS.
