    I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 with 2x 512MB PC2-5300 667MHz CL5 DDR2 SODIMM memory.
I have seen other threads that say one slot is easy to replace, the other isn't (apparently it's below the keyboard). Does anyone know if this is true?
If so, can I replace just one of the slots with a 2GB and leave the other at 512MB? I have conflicting advice on this so any help would be appreciated.
    Cheers.

The maximum memory is 2gb on this machine. Probably your best (and cheapest) bet would be two 1gb sticks.
