Hey all i've recently come across a copy of Warhammer Online and wish to play it on my Inspiron E1705 i purchased a few years ago.

I bought it with 1GB of RAM as well as the "improved" graphics card which is an ATI Radeon Mobility X1400.

Now my processor is a T2500 @ 2.0GHz Intel Pentium Dual Core.

Now the System req. for Warhammer are as follows:

2.5 GHz P4 (single core) processor or equivalent
    · 1 Gigabyte RAM
    · A 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
    · At least 15 GB of hard drive space

I know that my processor isn't fast enough but i'm almost positive i can still run the game, in fact i have it installed but it is so bogged down and laggy i think i need to upgrade my RAM and video-card!

I was thinking of buying this RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211200.

Can someone tell me if these will be compatable in my laptop, and if not what else would be? Sorry i know how to use a computer just not how to change the pieces :D

Now as far as the graphics card goes i'm pretty limited in my choices i was thinking of going with something like this http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-Go-7900-GS.2133.0.html

I'm almost positive that will fit my system. I have found a page that shows me how to install the new graphics card right into my system so hopefully i can do that alone. If someone can answer a few of my questions that would be great!

One more question, how easy would it be to install that new RAM myself?

You can only go with what the E1705 was ever offered with. Dell uses a custom GPU design, which locks you down.

The 7900GS is the only upgrade you can get. And it has to be from another E1705. Period :D.

    Check eBay.

As for the RAM, upgrading that is really easy. I'm pretty sure you use DDR2, but you can verify using CPU-Z.

Thanks friend! I just checked E-bay there are a few for around 200 USD which isn't bad for me. I also checked using CPU-Z and i can in fact use the DDR2 RAM so that 4GB would be good, i might only grab one 2GB stick that way i'm at 3 total..

As for RAM, you can do whichever you want. Either way it is pretty cheap.

Don't go over 2GB (2x1GB). The E1505 has pretty much the same specs, and users weren't able to go over 2GB.
Anyway, even if you install 4GB, you'll get about 3-3.5GB, chipset limitation in short. So, you could give 3GB a try.

I found a nice package from Kingston on Newegg.com that gives me a 1GB stick and a 2GB stick for around $50 USD. That sounds like the perfect setup for me.
