I just called Dell about upgrading my basic 1 year mail-in service warranty to 2 years (1 additional year) with on-site service and was told it would be $169.99 plus tax. This seems pretty steep does anyone know if maybe I was misquoted or this is actually the price and if so if that price is negotiable. Thanks.

Sounds right. It is always more money to get it after the fact than when you initially purchased it.
