    Hello all.

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 R and don't like the display at all. Thinking of upgrading it to a full high def 1920x1080 resolution screen. My question is this possible? I heard from one source that upgrading to a high def screen might overload the IGP of the laptop or would it cope fine.

Also is the screen LED backlit or CCFL.

    Thanks

Event the ancient Intel X3100 can output 1080p, so your laptops GPU should have no problem.

Just find a screen that is the same size, and uses the same connectors and your good.

N5010 uses an LED screen. You might be able to use the Latitude E6510 screen or the XPS 15 screen as they are 15.6" and 16:9 aspect ratio.

Check that your cable can support the monitor too.

IIRC dell tends to be a little different.
