I need to buy a laptop for college and the only thing that concerns me is the processor speed in laptops. 2ghz isn't much for gaming and it will cost 500 dollars to upgrade to 2.26ghz. Do you guys think the processor speed is a problem even if you have 2gigs of ram and the 7800GTX graphics card included in the XPS?

    Thanks for any advice!

The 2GHz in the XPS M170 is a Pentium M processor, 2.0PM is comparable to a 3.6P4, so, yes it is good for gaming.

processor plays a tiny role in gaming when compared to graphics card/mem/ and even hard drive rpm.
