so i am under the impression that i would need an nvidia go 7900 gs graphics card. I have noticed, however that the 7900 gs looks different than the 7800 pictured here. http://www.legitreviews.com/article/349/3/ I see there is a different tube there.... would that interfere with the installation instructions also listed on that website, or is there something else i can do?

I also have come to realize that the go 7900 gs is close to impossible to find... any suggestions?

i want to be able to run decent games on my computer but im really new to the whole hardware aspect. Thanks a bunch to anyone who can help me out :D

You might be looking at 7900GS's for other laptops or (worse) for desktops. Dell uses their own design.

You're best bet is actually finding a 7900GS pulled from another e1705. It would HAVE to be from an e1705 though, otherwise you cannot guarantee it will work.

If you have the Intel integrated video card right now, you will not be able to upgrade. But if you have the X1400 or 7300 you can.

So if i find a go 7800 or 7900 gs pulled from an e1705, they would work?

and this may sound like a dumb question, but bare with me, im new to this. How can you tell what video card you are currently running? I believe im running the x1400 but i am not 100% sure.
