I can't decide which of the following hard drives I should purchase. Both are 120 GB, the Hitachi costs $15 more.
Seagate Momentus 7200.2
- 7200 RPM
- SATA 3.0 GB/s
- 8 MB cache
Hitachi Travelstar 7K200
- 7200 RPM
- SATA 1.5 GB/s
- 16 MB cache
-
I know that the 200GB versions of them perform about the same, so go with the Seagate (cheaper), and I think Seagate have a better warranty, so it's really a double win.
-
Totally go with the 16mb cache. Remember sata 1.5 vs 3.0 doesn't make a difference.
-
I second the 16mb cache. You won't be able to tell the difference between 1.5 and 3.0. The cache is the most noticeable part.

I'd get the Hitachi. That Seagate hard drive is loud. I have the 200 gb version on that one. The Hitachi is supposed to have slightly better performance and it's quieter.
Upgrading my Vostro 1500 hard drive, which of these two is better?
