So I have an e1505, t2300 x1300. I while I ago I was delighted that I could upgrade its wifi for pocket change thanks to product obsolescence. Now I am looking to move on to more, the gpu and cpu. I actually just ordered the x1400 off ebay, and I plan to pick out the t7200 shortly, but one thing that I just remembered has me wondering. The inspiron 1505/6400 has both a 65 watt and 90 watt power supply available to it. I can't find any info on the threshold that determines which hardware config nets you which power supply and I am afraid the jump from a 1.6g 32bit chip to 2g 64bit is going to push my power needs over.
Is anyone running their t7200 with the 65 watt power supply?

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
If your machine currently works with a 65W adapter, it will work with the T7200 and the 65W adapter. All the standard voltage Socket M processors have more or less the same nominal TDP.

Didn't know there was a difference, and I'm running a t7600.

Well I've got both upgrades installed and every thing is running great. I pretty much got all the performance increases I was expecting too which is nice. Had no problems with switching the cpu from the hard putty that came with it to Artic silver, still makes plenty of contact. I actually left the putty on the north bridge because it is not like I expect it to heat up much and with some new AS, it fits like a glove in the old putty on the heatsink. I am actually finding no more or less fan usage on the t7200 then on my 2300. Infact now that I have some monitors running, it looks like the fan kicks on for the sake of the video card, not the cpu.
Now I need to research if it possible to upgrade the speakers.. seemed like they were pretty modular and lots of space down there. ^^
