I was thinking of upgrading my Dell Inspiron 6400's memory, and I'm trying to find out which sticks are compatible with my laptop, I was thinking of getting the Crucial 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Notebook Memory. Does anyone know if this is compatible with my laptop?

that should work just fine, though you could probably get the same perfomance for less from newegg or zipzoomfly, geil, corsair value,g.skill are all good brands, and in most cases much cheaper than crucial

I'm unaware of that, and I installed a 1gig stick of it in an e1505 for a friend over christmas, and as far as I know its working just fine.

Was a reocurring problem? or just an isolated incident, every make has bad sticks every now and again

No prob, there is nothing wrong with crucial, they make great products, but you do pay a premium, and in your case all you would be getting for that premium would be the branding.
