I just received my new Studio 1555 and a week or two ago, I had second thoughts about not getting the Blue-Ray player. Is it possible to easily upgrade this through Dell or by other means? Has anyone else upgraded their slot load drive from the DVD-R to Blue-Ray? If so, any suggestions on how I might go about that?

    Thanks!

Dell will mostly not upgrade it for you, even if you offer to pay them. They do have instructions for removing/replacing the optical drive in the online Service Manual, though. It's quite a pain to get to the optical drive, since you have to remove the entire palmrest and disconnect the display to access it.
