So, I'm finally going to make the switch from Xp to Vista on my Dell, however i am worried that doing so will damage my restore partition that came with the DELL.

I was wondering if i upgraded would it damage my Dell PC restore partition that came with my PC. I want to ensure that i will still be able to restore my PC even after installing vista if i don't like it. I considered installing as a dual boot, but i read that creating partitions runs the risk of damaging the Dell PC Restore partition on my C Drive. I don't have a PC restore disk, and i really don't want to install Vista without the PC restore function. Thanks for any help!

oh and i have a second drive as well.
