I want to know if its possible to go back to XP (if i do not like vista) after using the Vista upgrade disc by reformatting with Dell's OEM XP disc? Do I need to call microsoft to get a new key or will dell's oem disc work like every other time I reformatted (no key needed as long as it is a dell laptop)?

When performing a clean install from the upgrade, I only need to nuke the XP partition, right?

Just the usual caveat of backing up your data because the Dell install CD for XP will essentially need you to reformat the drive for it to install properly.

And having just put Vista on my E1705, I am liking it. Once you get used to the new places for most crap it's noy half bad, although I dont find it a necesary upgrade. XP works just as well but essentially has less eye candy, so if you dontg need/use the eye candy, then there's probably no real point to upgrading.
