    Upgrading video card on 1520

    hi...can it be possible to install a nvidia 9600m gt on my notebook 1520 inspiron?i've 8600m gt

    To provide a bit more detail:

    Dell laptops use a proprietary Dell connector for the video card. What this means is that you can only change cards to another compatible Dell video card. And it's not like you can put any Dell video card in, either - only ones that have the right connector for that model. So the choices become pretty limited.

    For the 1520, the only compatible video cards are the 8400M GS and 8600M GT DDR2 - and they must be the Dell versions. So no, you cannot upgrade. You could downgrade to 8400M GS, but other than that, you don't have any options for switching video cards.
