I am returning my sd memory card I ordered from dell. I requested a return and dell emailed me this:

"UPS will pick up the package(s) via a Dell paid pick up within 48
business hours. UPS will have the necessary return labels."

While I like the fact I dont have to pay for anything, I dont understand how this works. As stated in my DHL thread, all packages are sent to the office of my apartment complex. Do I leave the sd card with them? Im just really confused as to how this works. The other thing is the fact that it says within 48 hours. If I dont leave it in the office and I cant be reached then how will they get my package?

    Also, it says this:

"UPS will have the necessary return labels. Please be aware that this
is business days only. Pick ups will not be made on Saturdays, Sundays or holidays."

Is their ups mail on monday (MLK)? If there is I am out of luck because the office is closed on monday. Unless I sit out there all day waiting for ups Im not sure what else to do. I know DHL delivers mail on monday. In fact I hope ups doesnt come on monday because my sd card doesnt come in until monday so I dont want ups coming when I dont even have it yet.

I wish I didnt request the return until I had the sd card however I never imagined that dell would do this. I assumed I would mail it back myself like I have done with other companies.

    Thanks

I emailed them and told them the situation. I am fine doing that; are you talking about dropping it off at a distribution center?

    Thanks

I waited for more than 2 days.. UPS didn't come and pick up. I use my other spare DHL shipping label that Dell sent me while ago and return it. Do you know what time did UPS come to my house and pick it up? it's 8:30PM!!!!!

    lol sorry for your trouble.

I called ups and they said I couldnt drop off the package because I need the return labels. I dont understand why the ups store couldnt do that but I guess they cant. They said to just leave it with the office. They also said it didnt matter if the office is closed because they make three attempts to pick it up. So I guess everything is sqaured away now.

    Thanks

You can request a pickup at any time by going to UPS.com...and if your label doesnt have UPS ground, its free. You dont need an account to request a pickup. I used the pickup feature many times, of course, most of the times, I have to pay fee because most of the packages I sent are UPS Ground.

Thanks I will keep that in mind on future returns. I had no idea I could just have ups pick up every time.

The thing is my package is ups ground, dell is paying for it. I dont understand why because is specifically says they dont pay for return shipping. Anyways Im not complaining.

The only thing I dont like about this is that I have to trust the office worker to remember about my return and not misplace it.
