Urgent! 1520 Remote Control

Folks,

Dell is set to call me back in about 20 minutes regarding the remote control situation with the Inspiron 1520.

I mentioned this forum and that some users have called in successfully regarding requesting a free remote control.

However, the representative was unsure which one to send me, so she told me to go research it and get back to her.

For those of you who have been successful in requesting a free remote control, what was the name/model of the remote control that you received? What is the part #?

So far, all that I have after numerous searches is:

Person A:

Dell Travel Remote
Product Code: TRM
SKU: 412-0961

(Got this off Canada website)

Person B:

Remote Control kit for media center PCs ???

Will they cover the cost of both of those, since the remote wasn't included? or do you pay?

 

I just called and they gave me the 412-0781 part w/next business day shipping. There was no charge for the remote.

Go configure an Inspiron 1520. Go to the third page, accessories, and add the free upgrade to a remote control.

Add the system to the cart, then look under detailed view. Also click "show details." This SKU and Product code will show up.

BTW...I'm not sure if that SKU really matters. The rep gave me the 412-0781 remote but the Canada site offers the 412-0961 one. Not really sure what's the difference, but the rep said the former should fit my unit anyway...we shall see.

I would suggest you to get another dell representative. How are you suppose to get the Windows Media Edition when there was only vista to offer to begin with.
