Is this a good deal?
80% of the time I'll be using it at home on my lap with a wired LAN connection(sometimes wireless) and AC power. 20% on a max of 3-4 flights a year. I'll store the battery at 40% charge in a dry place most of the time.
I want it to last at least 3 years.
I'll buy extra memory from aftermarket suppliers since it's cheaper.
Questions:
- Heat and power issues with the 2.0GHz versus the 1.8Ghz
- Heat issues with the 7200RPM vs $5400 80GB Harddrive
- Since the bluetooth is not the new enhanced data rate 2.0, should I just nix it and buy an aftermarket usb dongle ?
- With the fingerprint reader in the middle of the touchpad buttons, is that annoying or you just get used to it? I'm a typer so I'll probably use the trackpoint more, how's that?

The fingerprint reader can get annoying but you will eventually get used to it. I don't see why any of the above should cause heat issues. You can take that opt for the BT, but that would also work plus it's built in. I encourage you to upgrade the ram to 2 gb, this way you would have yourself a monster!

But that costs a ton at $239 extra. I know I can do that after with much less.
-
I would opt for the smallest amount of ram and then hit up newegg for the 2 x 1gb sticks of ram. Thats what I did... well worth it.. I love my D620.
