    i have just received my brand spanking new 1520, whilst i have had a quick play around i want to install xp pro.

    When i have put the xp pro cd in, the auto start menu appears. However the button that says install windows xp is greyed out :mad: Whats the deal here then?

    You have to boot to the CD, you cannot install XP if you are currently running Vista or XP at that instant.

    so do i have to change the boot to cd in the bios then?

    Havnt checked the headphones issue yet

    If you have a CD in your drive, and then you reboot, I believe if you press F8 (maybe F2) you can select an option for what you want to boot off for only that 1 time, so you don't have to go into BIOS, and then go back into BIOS when your done. Just saves some time.

    It will most likely boot from CD as it is. Now if it doesn't do that, then yes you have to set it up in the bios...

    right so i booted to cd as suggested, that started up all fine. I then started installing a few drivers before declaring that i didnt have a hard drive!

    Any suggestions?
