    Urgent Question-700m centrino off?????

    Does anyone know if you can turn the centrino off on the dell 700m?

    you mean the wireless card?! Centrino is just the name of the tecnology!

    because i wanted to get an external Orinoco Nic card for it and i heard centrino is not compatible with netstumbler...to sniff/identify networks for my company.

    Centrino isn't really an "option," it's a type of processor technology, like Hyperthreading or PowerNow...I'm fairly certain it can't be "turned off." However, if such an option exists, it would probably be in your BIOS.

    Im pretty sure i heard you can turn off the centrino option with a physical or OS toggle...does anyone know?

    why can't you use your sniffer with the internal nic card?

    you can just physically remove the wireless card! or disable it from the BIOS. ANd then use whatever one you want

    I think the FN + F2 turns off the internal wireless card. F2 has a little antenna on it in blue. I have not tried it myself. The other option is to go into network connections, right click and disable on the adapter. I bet you went to the net stumbler forum and got flamed hard. They love flaming noobs. BTW that is the lamest signature I have ever seen.
