Hi all
I would be grateful for your assistance with these
i bought a new computer Dell Latitude D820 (2.16GHz) with:
256MB NVIDIA Quarro NVS 110M (128MB on board) , 15.4" (1680x1050) SXGA display, 1GB RAM
Problem 1
When I first got this computer, everything on the screen appeared very small--almost microscopic. I assumed this had something to do with the high screen resolution. I tried playing with the Control Panel / Display / Settings. I fiddled with the resolution and DPI settings. This really didn't improve things and some changes resulted in half the screen being blacked out. I restored the original settings and then managed to make some of the fonts, icons and other screen objects larger using Control Panel / Display / Appearance. Easy stuff. But a lot of the display (like the Photoshop Toolbox, palettes, cursors etc remain very small. I am gradually adjusting to this, but it is certainly hard on the eyes after an hour or two.
Problem 2
This actually a more perplexing and irritating problem. Note that it only affects Photoshop (all 3 versions I have now tried).
Whenever I select and use a new tool the active image "flashes" twice. If I use the lasso tool, all the other open images white-out.
This is VERY hard on the eyes, although I think I am now getting used to this also.
So, I remain very puzzled.
My email id is [email protected]
Thanks
Bibin

Problem 1: are you sure that it's not just your screen resolution? What size monitor are you migrating from? It may take a few days to adjust (I took awhile to adjust from a 15.4 WXGA to a 14.1" SXGA+ screen) You seem to be on the right track adjusting larger icons and playing with the DPI... I'm not sure if PS offers an option for large icons--you may want to ask on a PS forum.
Problem 2: I have no clue, sorry.
