I was wondering if there is quick method to using the Media Buttons with other application. I am not really using Dell's Media Direct, because quite frankly I hate the program. I am interested in using the buttons with Winamp, and VLC, and even anything else. If anyone has any suggestions, please go ahead.

I was also wondering why I cannot rate my Dell 1520. The option is not showing up. I am not on a clean install, so maybe Dell have disabled the function or something. I took a screenshot, but it's far to large to post it here. So, you can view it here.

I can't get them to work with winamp, but they work with Itunes just fine. I suppose there might be software to let you do it, but I'm not sure.

I would like to know how to get the media buttons to work with other apps too.

The buttons work with WMP. I don't have mediadirect install.

If you're using WinAMP, try the Global Hotkeys in the options area. I would think this would work, but I can't be positive. it did work for my multimedia keyboard however.

yep - they work fine in winamp with global hotkeys checked (on the m1330 anyways). As far as i know there is no way to get compatability with VLC (which sucks - its the best player out there)
