    Hi all

I'm traveling to China soon, which uses 220 V power outlets. My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1520. Do I need to get an adapter/converter, or can I just plug it in? I've heard that certain laptops are made to run with higher voltages, but I want to be sure.

right now, I have a max. 50 W converter and a 500-1600 W converter, the latter of which states that it should not be used with computers (but the guy at the store said it should be fine) so any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I've used my 1420 in Spain, Isreal, and Italy and all I bought was a walljack converter so it fit in the wierdo foreign plugs. Have had no problems with mine at all and it worked fine. Best thing was the converter plug was only a few bucks.
