I'm a self-proclaimed rookie at computer technology so this question may be a little lame for many of you.

I've got a Dell Inspiron 1505, running Vista using two external USB speakers. When I disconnect my speakers, I no longer am able to use the laptop's internal speakers. I get nothing. Zip. I'm sure I've done something and blew away some obscure setting.

Anyone give me some advice on where to begin? Thanks!

Try going into sound in control panel and see if speakers are set to default.
