I wouldn't plan on having any children.

I've had my 1210 for about 10 days now, and while it defo gets warm, it doesn't really get to the point where it's uncomfortable. Another thing to consider is that mine's got the 7400 card in it which kicks the temp up a few notches. If yours has the integrated video it shouldn't get nearly as hot.

I wouldn't leave any laptop directly on my lap for more than 1-1.5 hours - unheathy IMO. Just make sure you're not stressing the notebook performance wise, otherwise, it'll get pretty toasty down there.

Just position it out toward your knees rather than on your "private" area :)

I'd recommend picking up a Targus ChillMat, makes a great platform for putting a notebook on your lap. I personally never have my notebook on my lap because I'd block the cooling fan.

Hey Chaz. Isn't the Spire Pacific Breeze better than the Targus Chillmat?
