I have a Studio XPS 13 with the 256GB SSD option and absolutely love it. My wife uses a Mac... one of the new 13" Macbook Pro's. It came with a 160GB 5400RPM drive but she needs more room and after seeing my XPS fly with the SSD she has decided that she just has to have an SSD. Looking out on the Dell website I see that they sell the 256GB Dell branded SSD for under $500 which seems like a really good deal but I'm not sure if it will work in the MBP. Just wondering if anyone know whether or not it would work for her. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers!

It will work if your willing to rip apart your macbook :D

Just make sure the MB has SATA (I am sure it does but I don't care for macs so I don't know their specs).

Thanks for the reply... it is a SATA interface. Yeah... have to remove the entire bottom plate to get to the drive... think there are 10 or 12 screws to remove... fun!

Also, if anyone knows anything about this replacement drive I'd really appreciate the info. I'm wondering if it's the same drive that they put into the XPS 13... I've read lots of differing data about it... some say it's the same, others say it's different... some say it's a Samsung SSD, others say it isn't.... the specs say it's SATA I but I've read lots of stuff from people saying that it's actually SATA II. Basically I get lots of conflicting info. so if someone here has actual hands-on experience with the drive and can comment on some of this stuff it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks again!
