hello, i've a problem with vlc media player on playing certains divx files, not all the divx i have. When playing, appear a green vertical line on the left side of the vlc software screen, the colors are strange and there is a replica of the video translated on the right in blue trasparency.. i tryed to reinstall the video driver (gforce 8600 version 162.18 on windows xp) and tryed to change the output (directx, non directx, software,d3d) but nothing worked for me... could be the video card corrupted? i've never had a problem with vlc in my whole entire life... hope somebody could help
    thanks

    Gabriele

Remembering this post from earlier, I just got my vostro 1500 (also with xp) yesterday and installed vlc. Have had no issues with any divx files I've had or downloaded thus far. Maybe you should try Windows Media Player, winamp, or some other software to verify it's again isolated to vlc.
