VOSTRO 1500 : Issue with Mic: Urgent help required

Hi all

I have bought a VOSTRO 1500 couple of months back.

2 months back when i was running a chat program and want to use mic i could find that my mic was not working. I checked by reconnecting and all but in vain.
Then i enable the digital line detect and started to use. From then onwards when evr i wanted to use mic in chat program i had to manually enable it. By default i could see that its disabled.

Then i chkd my friends m/c i could find that he simply needs to click on the mic option and speak up, no hastle of enabling and disableing. He told me that by default the normal mics are available and by enabling digital line detect. He concluded that my normal mics are not working.

I tried doing sound recorder and its fine with both normal and the digital one.

i uninstalled and reinstalled the sound and digital line detect drivers but no use.

i am not sure abt the issue. Can any one suggest some method to fix this issue.
