I'm in the market for a new notebook and I wanted the vostro 1500. However, when I called up dell, they told me that it will not work with my home wi-fi. They said it is just for small businesses and it will only work with those type of internet hook ups. Is this true? I need some advice. Also, any suggestions on a new notebook for me. I need a good one for about $950 and i'm a big dell guy. Thanks so much

Thats not true. Wi-fi will work with your home as well(granted you have a wi-fi network setup). Vostro 1500 is a great notebook as many of Vostro owners can vouch for it. For $950, you can get a decently specced Vostro or Inspiron. :)

It's best to order over the web, all you have to do is enter a "business name"-just use your own name instead. :)

I have a Vostro 1400 that I ordered through my dad's company for a business discount, but I use it at home, and the wifi works fine.

just so you know, often times businesses use home routers for their wireless. not all can afford the cisco ones. i know we implemented about 40 wrt54g's in ours.
