I just received my new Inspiron 1520 loaded with Vista Home Premium. I am having trouble setting up a VPN to connect to my office. If I try to set up the VPN through the Network and Sharing Center, I cannot set it up at all and Vista will not even let me diagnose the problem. If I use the rasphone utility it allows me to set up the VPN icon. However, the first time I click on the icon it connects to the VPN but then the icon immediately dissapears. The next time I want to connect to the VPN I have to recreate the icon all over again. Interestingly enough, I have to reboot to disconnect from the VPN because the icon is no longer there to click on the disconnect feature. Has anyone else had this issue?

I have contacted Dell who passed me on to Microsoft. I stumped the Windows Vista support at Microsoft who told me I needed to speak with networking support. I don't believe it is a networking issue because I am able to connect. However, we all know that Microsoft knows best! Thanks for any help on this issue.

Your office IT department would probably handle this best. I know I keep a laptop with XP installed because I can't connect through Vista as the VPN client my office uses isn't compatible yet.
