A few minutes ago I suddenly saw vertical lines on the screen , they appeared only on the 2/3 lower part and kinda buzzed there , its hard to describe .

After a sec or 2 they gone , hopefully for good however since my screen had gone bad lately could this mean the end of my GPU ?

Its not OCed however I use it alot and its always on , any advice if it was the GPU and if there is a point in opening the thing and trying to clean it / apply AS5 ?

    Thanks ,
    Gilo

What are your GPU temps? If the temps aren't abnormal you shouldn't have any problems with your video card. You could try reinstalling the drivers, as it's possible that that could be the problem.

The temp now is 50c idle , they only get higher when I play bf2 ofcourse .

The lines occoured when it was idle and for a brief second or two .

Its works now without any problem .

My fear is that its an omen of a soon to be faulty/fried GPU .

Anyone can clear things out ?

Sounds like a fried GPU - call Dell's Tech Support and have them repair or send a new notebook out to you.
