    Very Happy with 1520!!!

    Yesterday I recieved my Inspiron 1520,

    And I just wanted to say that I LOVE IT.

    I opted for the WXGA+ 1440x900 glossy screen...and i can honestly say that there is no graininess whatsoever!! The screen is brilliant!!

    When I first powered it up, I was dissapointed to hear the CPU whining noise that everyone is talking about...so I downloaded RMclock, and followed the instructions posted on the other forum to stop the noise...It worked fine, but when I restarted the computer today, I noticed that the noise had gone completely without RMclock running. All I know is that when windows finished installing updates....the computer restarted, and it was gone!!!! :D (either that or it went away after installing the Audigy software)

    Since then I have gotten rid of RMclock, and havent had any problems since.

    The head phone jack wasnt a problem for me either.

    And the build itself is sturdy as hell, and alltogether looks great!. The only slight problem I can think of is that when the lid is closed, it still wobbles a bit. But who cares...when you are using the laptop, the lid isnt closed!

    And lastly....the fact that I have 2GB ram, and the 8600M GT with the core 2 duo......Vista runs VERY smoothly.


    So for all the people doubting their 1520's before arrival....dont....wait it out like me and you could be pleasantly surprised.

    qwerty: I noticed you got the Midnight Blue. When did you order yours? I have the Midnight Blue also and the 1440x900 display and mine has been in the build stage since July 16th.

    edit: oh yeah...Congrats!

    I ordered mine July 10.....was in build stage until July 25, which was when it shipped...recieved it July 31

    Nice good to hear, I ordered mine on July 13th with the same screen so I'm hoping to get mine, the ESD is Aug 8th though :| getting closer and closer to that date.
