Look and see what is running in the background as far as programs and services. You might need to re-install XP from scratch to get rid of all the excess crap that is added. Do you have a 9700 or 9800? your text says 9700. but the 3dmark screen says its a 9800. You might try using the Acer drivers for the ATI and see how that does as well, cause the omega drivers are not always the best for notebooks; the reason is desktop PC's with video cards are very straight forward and the omega drivers do very well, but for notebooks each notebook builder usually tweaks the drivers for their notebook. Sometimes to fix bugs that only exist on their notebooks and sometimes for other reasons. This is why you cannot download notebook drivers from ATI, you have to get them from the notebook maker. Aslo be sure your testing with the notebook plugged in to power as under batteries everything usually gets underclocked to save power, even plugged in you should check what power mode you have set as you might be running slow when plugged in too.

Let us know what you find and the problem was.

i! thx a lot for taking the time to answer me!

Well first the laptop in my singature isnt the good one.
I forgot to change my sig and the laptop i have now is a INSPIRON 9100 from DELL and not an acer.

    The config is : 3ghzHT - 512rampc3200 - hdd7200rpm - and the card is a MOBILITY radeon 9800! with 256mb and 256bit!

Ill prolly ghost my comp tomorrow, cause its true that dell installed me a bunch of software that i dont need at all! but ill need to backfirst :(
I went on other dell forum and they say that the best driver is omega for that laptop, and i did install them :S.

ill wait until i ghost it and see if my score goes up!

    thx a lot again!

What does it mean to "ghost" a laptop? I'm trying to figure out the best way to set up my new 8600 and I need some advice.
