I have my computer from about 6 months.
And battery was not very good - It jumps from wear level to wear level.
For example if today wear level is 5 %, after 2 weeks It somehow can jump to 12 %.
Anyway I agreed to live with it.
But from two days after I fully charges my computer, and after run the computer without adapter - the battery stars from 93%.
It must starts discharging from 100% - how it comes....

Am I need to contact Dell and require replacement?

How are you measuring your wear level? Does the wear level only jump down, or jump up as well? The battery is probably just re-calibrating itself (or in need of re-calibration) as it dies the long gory death of a notebook battery...

I wouldn't bother with the wear level information as different programs don't even give you the same number. It would be more useful to keep track of the battery life, checking that it is fairly consistent.

Don't worr I have the same issue. I've had my Dell Studio 17 for 6 months, and battery can only hold 60% charge. It's decreased by 40% in 6 months. Thats poor. Well..thats what happends when its plugged in most of the time.

So yeah battery drains in less than 1.5hours. :/

    Thank for the answers guys!
Commander Wolf: I mensured with everest and Yes wear level jumps up and down (today was 12 %; now is 17% after I remove and put again the battery)
beige: you will have Private Message with my Email just in minute.Thank you bud.

By the way I know one method too.I tested it before and It did the trick (+ decrease my wear level with 5%)
    1.Full charge your battery
2.Fully discharge it - until "Start" button do not power up your machine anymore
3.Keep your machine "OFF" and charge it in OFF mode
4.Start your machine - the wear level must be decreased and the time on battery must be increased

    Thank you again.
